Load Cartel toasted burritos with sour cream and this Pink Pickle recipe to take the experience up a notch!
1 medium red onion, halved and thinly sliced
1-2 teaspoon Maldon salt
1/4 cup lime juice (roughly one lime)
Follow these simple steps:
Slice and Soak: Begin by thinly slicing the red onions and placing them in a bowl.
Season with Zest: Sprinkle 1-2 teaspoons of Maldon salt over the onions, then generously squeeze the juice of one lime.
Marinate to Perfection: Let the onions stand for 5 – 10 minutes, stirring a couple of times to ensure the salt dissolves. The juice will go pink.
Whilst Pink Pickle is a perfect combo with our burritos, it equally elevates nachos and sour cream, baked potatoes, wedges, loaded fries... basically anything that you would add sour cream. It also goes gangbusters with poached eggs on toast.
